SELCKOM is an abbreviation for:
South East London & Kent Council of Mosques
A coalition of mosques with a shared desire to provide a united platform to promote the needs, concerns and aspirations of the Muslim and non-Muslim community in the
South-East London and Kent region.
We were formed in 2017.
Our Mission.
What we believe in and what we want to achieve
Promote
To promote co-operation, consultation, consensus and unity amongst Muslim Community in South East London and Kent.
Society
Work for the eradication of socio-economic disadvantages of Muslims in South East London and Kent.
Collective
Make the most use of our joint resources and activities particularly on matters concerning the Muslim community such as Islamophobia.
Support
To stand against violence and criminal behaviour of any kind and drug abuse among our Muslim youth in South East London and Kent.
Empower
Empower the Muslim community to confidently and make a full and valuable contribution to our respective communities and society.
Educate
To eradicate the misconceptions surrounding Islam by embodying its teachings and reaching out in bettering community relations and community cohesion.
Community
Foster better community relations and work closely with other organisations for the benefit of society.
Dawah (Invite)
To invite people, Muslims and non-Muslims, to understand the worship of God as expressed in the Qur’an and the sunnah of the prophet Muhammad PBUH.
